Take a Hike! in California’s State Parks

With beaches, mountains, valleys, deserts and forests, California offers recreation fans about a kerjillion ways to be active. No matter where you are in our state you’re never far from outdoor adventure. In a way, California State Parks are the biggest gym in the world…and you don’t even need a membership!

WALKING is the most popular exercise and recreational activity in California. It’s a low-impact exercise that will help you ease into a greater level of fitness. It also helps to reduce the risk of nasty stuff like heart attacks, strokes and Type 2 diabetes.  Walking also helps keep blood pressure, weight, and stress levels in control. Also, it’s a totally convenient way to get from one place to another place.

HIKING in your state parks is more than just a walk in the park. It’s an exciting and affordable way to improve your health and enjoy the breath-taking beauty of California.

FAMILY hikes are great! No TV, no telephones, no computer or video games – it’s the perfect time to bond with the fam.

EXPERIENCE the wonders of nature and leave the city behind.
