Delicious Healthy Pizza

its just about everybody's favorite food, who doesn't like pizza? Pizza can be healthy, depending on what’s on it.

If the pizza is covered with greasy cheese and pepperoni, then its full of fat, calories and has very little nutrients.

If you start with a thin crust, top the pizza with vegetables, lean meats and low fat cheese you actually have a pizza meal that is good for you!

Making your own pizza can be pretty easy. Go ahead and get creative, making your own signature healthy pizza pie!

Here is the short list for making a healthy pizza:

For the crust, choose a whole wheat ready-to-bake crust or make your own whole wheat pizza dough.

Make it a thin crust pizza. It's possible to have a slightly thicker crust and still have a healthy pizza, but, most of the time, the thinner the better.

Tomato pizza sauce is a good thing, the more you put on the better.

Lighten up on the cheese and use low-moisture, part-skim mozzarella and no-fat mozzarella, or other low fat cheese blends.

For meat toppings, use lean meats; like lean ham, chicken, or lean ground beef instead of pepperoni and sausage.

Load your pizza up with tons of the toppings you like:

Sliced Tomatoes, Sliced Onions,

Sliced Mushrooms, Sliced Olives

Sliced Red, Green or Yellow

Peppers, Diced Pineapple,

Broccoli Florets, Spinach leaves,

Shredded Carrots, Sliced Garlic,

Sliced Beets, Sliced Squash,

Cauliflower Florets
